No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would repeal the requirement that a county elections administrator may not be paid more than the county clerk and that the elections administrator's employees may not be paid more than the county clerk's employees in comparable positions. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

The bill would provide flexibility to a county to establish its own pay structure for an elections administrator and their staff.

No significant fiscal implication on units of local government is anticipated.
