No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would make changes to the requirements regarding appointment of court interpreters for hearing-impaired individuals, and to qualifications of court interpreters.  The Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services indicates the bill would have no fiscal impact to the agency.  The Health and Human Services Commission indicates rule-making duties that would be assigned to HHSC through the bill would be implemented with current staff resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
