May 18, 2005

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2241 by Callegari (Relating to the authority of certain municipalities to require a contract between a municipal utility district and the municipality before the district issues obligations.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would apply to a city located in a county with a population of less than 1 million in which a municipality with a population of more than 650,000 is predominately located. Based on the 2000 federal census, the bill would apply to a city located in Travis County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
