FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 19, 2005

TO:
Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2314 by Miller (Relating to increases in the recreational sports fee at component institutions of The Texas A&M University System.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

Under provisions of the bill, the components of the Texas A&M University System are authorized to increase the recreational sports fee up to 10 percent each academic year.  The amount of revenue generated by the fee increase, locally assessed the institutions, would depend on the amount of increase assessed by the University and could increase with enrollment growth.
