No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would authorize in a county with only one district court and only one county court at law, and the courts have concurrent jurisdiction, that the courts may act together to pull together jury pools and select from those pools. The bill would establish the procedures the courts must follow in creating and using interchangeable jury pools. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives the required two-thirds vote; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2005.
