The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code relating to the sale, service, and delivery of alcoholic beverages and provide penalties.
The bill would allow the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, after notice and hearing, to suspend (for not more than 60 days) or cancel a permit (original or renewal) of a permittee that 1) consumed or permitted to be consumed on the licensed premises an alcoholic beverage at a time when the consumption was prohibited, or 2) sold, served, or delivered an alcoholic beverage when its sale is prohibited.
The change in law made by the bill would apply only to an offense committed on or after the effective date of the bill.
