LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 13, 2005

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2507 by Bohac (Relating to the regulation of mobile food units and roadside food vendors in certain populous areas.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a certain municipality and a certain county to regulate mobile food units and roadside vendors by enforcing state health laws. The population criteria in the bill would apply only to the City of Houston and Harris County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
