No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill amends the Labor Code to allow a license holder to sponsor a plan of self-insurance for health benefits provided by the license holder for the benefit of assigned employees. The Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) indicates the provisions of this bill would not affect the agency’s workloads. Based on TDLR’s analysis, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
