HB2633 by Vo (Relating to the unlawful carrying of a handgun on certain premises used for law enforcement.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to add as an offense if a person who has a concealed carry license carries a handgun on the premises of a law enforcement facility, unless the person was not given effective notice as described in Section 30.06, Penal Code. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005 and would apply only to an offense committed on or after that date.

A law enforcement agency would incur the costs of posting signs at all of the buildings and facilities used by the agency for the official business of peace officers, special investigators, or adjunct police officers.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
