LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2005

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2647 by Homer (Relating to designation of Farm-to-Market Road 68 in Fannin County as Speaker Jimmy Turman Road.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect markers designating the portion of Farm-to-Market Road 68 in Fannin County as Speaker Jimmy Turman Road.  Based on the analysis of TxDOT, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill would be minimal and could be absorbed by using existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  If the bill does not receive a two-thirds majority vote in each house, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
