No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would add Subchapter G to Chapter 431 of the Government Code, and would pay $50,000 to the heirs of Texas National Guard members who die in combat zones while on federal active duty. The Adjutant General’s Department reports that one Texas National Guard member has died while on federal active duty since September 11, 2001. No significant fiscal impact to the State is anticipated from the bill.
