HB2767 by Talton (Relating to the release of a criminal defendant in certain cases and the eligibility of and citation to certain individuals who act as sureties on bail bonds. ), As Passed 2nd House

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish requirements for individuals in certain counties to become a surety on a bail bond. The bill would also remove the reference to appearing before the district court when discussing appearance of a defendant to answer any criminal accusation when an indictment has not been presented. Procedural changes for citation to sureties and requisites of citation would also be made to statute.
