No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the certification of compliance with existing requirements by metal recycling entities. 

 

The bill would require a person that sells or otherwise transfers to a metal recycling entity a lead-acid battery, fuel tank, or PCB-containing capacitor that is included with another type of scrap, used, or obsolete metal, to submit within 10 days of the transfer, certification to the Department of Public Safety that it has complied with the requirements of this section of the Occupations Code.
 

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2005.
