LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 17, 2005

TO:
Honorable Terry Keel, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2885 by Giddings (Relating to an arrest warrant or complaint for the issuance of a bad check.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The provisions of the bill apply to a county with a population of 2 million or more that does not have a county attorney. Based on the 2000 federal census, only Dallas County fits the parameters of the bill.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
