No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and require the Comptroller to use electronic funds transfer to pay salary, travel expense reimbursements, and payments of more than $100 to state employees and ERS or TRS annuitants unless the employee or annuitant agrees to accept payment on an electronic pay card. It is assumed that any additional duties or responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.

 

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2005.
