No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Under the bill, the Higher Education Coordinating Board would develop and implement a nursing shortage reduction program to increase the number of vocational and professional nurses in the state. The Texas Enterprise Fund would be the funding source for the program. The Governor would determine the percentage of the fund to be used toward grants for the nursing shortage reduction. No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated as the bill directs the expenditure of appropriated amounts.
