HB3102 by McReynolds (Relating to the employment recruitment and retention of physicians by rural hospitals.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add these entities to the list of health organizations that the Board of Medical Examiners would be required to certify to contract with or employ physicians licensed by the board: a hospital located in a county with a population of 50,000 or less; a hospital designated as a critical access hospital under the authority of and in compliance with 42 U.S.C. Section 1395i-4; or a sole community hospital under the authority of and in compliance with 42 U.S.C. Section 1395ww(d)(5)(D)(iii).

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

It is anticipated that any costs incurred by the Board of Medical Examiners for implementing provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
