No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Under the provisions of the bill, certain military personnel who return from active duty would not be required to reside in the state for at least 12 months immediately preceding the date of the person's registration at an institution of higher education to be eligible for tuition and fee exemptions as long as the other residency requirements under Section 54.203 of the Education Code are met.
