LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 25, 2005

TO:
Honorable Terry Keel, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3260 by Van Arsdale (Relating to the penalties for certain gambling offenses and to the forfeiture of certain gambling devices, equipment, and paraphernalia.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow the Texas Building and Procurement Commission to sell gambling devices, equipment, and paraphernalia that have been ordered forfeited by the courts. It is assumed that any revenue generated as a result of the selling of these items would have a minimal fiscal impact to the agency.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
