FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB3306 by Bohac (Relating to certain diseases or illnesses suffered by certain emergency fire fighter or emergency medical technicians.), As Introduced |
The bill modifies Chapter 607 of the Government Code and defines certain medical conditions as being job related for firefighters or Emergency Medical Technicians whose services are for an entity created by an inter-local agreement. It would not have a significant fiscal impact on the public safety benefits program and the disability retirement benefits administered by the Employees Retirement System. Changes in the statute would not increase or decrease the claims approved by the Texas Statewide Emergency Services Personnel Retirement Act (TSESRA) as administered by the Fire Fighters' Pension Commissioner. There is no impact to the Fire Protection Commission. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
