The bill would amend sections of the Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the prosecution and punishment of certain criminal offenses involving theft and fraud and to the provision of notice of the commission of those offenses to certain licensing entities. Based on the analysis of the Department of Insurance, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
This bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
