FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB3378 by Pena (Relating to damages that may be awarded against an employer who terminates or refuses to reemploy certain employees who are members of the state military forces.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to damages that may be awarded against an employer who terminates or refuses to reemploy certain employees who are members of the state military forces. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in both houses; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
Based on the analysis of the Office of the Attorney General, it is assumed that any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed with current resources.
