LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2005

TO:
Honorable Will Hartnett, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3519 by Naishtat (Relating to the appointment of temporary justices of the peace in certain counties.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Based on the criteria combination of the county population (800,000 or more) and the number of justices of the peace in the county (not more than five), the bill would apply to the appointment of temporary justices of the peace only in Travis County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
