April 11, 2005

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB42 by Nelson (Relating to health education in public schools and to the improvement of children's health through daily physical activity in public schools.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would require the commissioner of education to annually report specific information regarding health education and physical activity in public schools by school district.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  While school districts would no longer have to make the information available for public inspection, they would be required to report the information for compilation at the state level.
