SB53 by Nelson (Relating to the use of genetic testing information by insurers.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.  The Texas Department of Insurance's Health Maintenance Organization would have to add a new review element for individual evidences of coverage.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
