FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | SB124 by Shapiro (Relating to a review of the rule concerning the content of individualized education programs for students with autism or other pervasive developmental disorders.), As Introduced |
The bill would require the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to establish a committee of stakeholders to study the rule concerning the content of an individualized education program for a student with autism or another pervasive developmental disorder.
The bill would take effect immediately upon enactment by the necessary voting majorities or
TEA would incur costs of establishing, convening, and supporting the required committee. The bill would limit the time period for the committee’s work to approximately one year. These associated costs should not reach significant levels.
