LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 19, 2005

TO:
Honorable Kent Grusendorf, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB126 by Lindsay (Relating to the discipline, conduct, and transfer of public school students. ), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

School districts would likely incur some administrative costs associated with processing transfer requests, documenting verification that bullying occurred, and establishing plans to prevent bullying.  However, because many districts already have well-established procedures for preventing and dealing with bullying problems, there should not be significant fiscal implication for districts.
