IN RE: | SB129 by Barrientos (Relating to certain exceptions to the requirement that the operator of a motor vehicle operated on a turnpike project pay the proper toll or the full amount of the toll.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would authorize the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and a regional mobility authority (RMA) to waive or reduce the toll imposed on any vehicle or class of vehicles being driven on a turnpike project. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
According to TxDOT, because the decision to waive or reduce tolls would be determined prior to issuance of bonds and because the agency already has authority to waive or reduce tolls, provisions of the bill would have no fiscal impact on the agency.
