No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Department of Public Safety to meet at least quarterly with counterparts in the Mexican states bordering this state to discuss issues relating to truck inspections and transportation. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. If the bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, it would take effect September 1, 2005.
