SB390 by Wentworth (Relating to the order of succession to the office of governor.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would alter the order of succession to the Office of Governor by inserting, in order, the following officers after the Attorney General: the Comptroller, the Commissioner of the General Land Office, the Commissioner of Agriculture, the presiding officer of the Railroad Commission of Texas, and Railroad Commissioner in order of seniority on the commission.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in both houses; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
