No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would (1) amend the Government Code to eliminate the requirement that the Veterans' Land Board (VLB) submit requests for purchases for veterans' homes and cemeteries to the Texas Building and Procurement Commission for approval; and (2) delegate all purchasing functions relating to veterans' homes and cemeteries to the VLB.

The bill also would modify Section 161.001(a)(7) of the Government Code to expand the definition of "veteran" as applied to programs administered by the VLB.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
