No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill requires the Office of the Governor to conduct a study to review leading states’ and countries’ technology related economic development programs, identify emerging technologies in Texas, summarize and outline all current existing technology related economic development tools and programs in Texas, and outline the economic development functions and responsibilities of those that have an interest in encouraging economic growth in Texas.

 

The bill requires the governor to submit the results of the study to the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the members of the 80th Legislature by December 1, 2006.
