SB653 by Van de Putte (Relating to point-of-sale health warnings for tobacco products.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 161.084(b) of the Health and Safety Code by adding further detail to the warning sign that cigarette and tobacco products retailers must post on their premises in a conspicuous location.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

The Comptroller of Public Accounts indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
