No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Under the bill, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) would establish a system for designating a general academic teaching institution as a comprehensive research university of the first class. THECB could implement provisions of the bill within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
