No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Public Information Act by changing the references to the General Services Commission to the Texas Building and Procurement Commission.  The bill also provides for the timeframes in which a requestor has to review certain materials as well as the timeframe to respond to a cost statement provided to a requestor. 

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. If the bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2005.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
