No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would expand the jurisdiction of a municipal court for cases involving the operating or loading of an overweight vehicle in violation of certain laws. Under current statute, a municipal court has jurisdiction of this type of offense only when the fine for the offense does not exceed $500.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in both houses; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
