No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authoriz the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to issue emergency orders for public works projects needed to rebuild or repair damaged roads, bridges, or other infrastructure destroyed during a catastrophe. Passage of the bill is not expected to result in any significant additional costs to the TCEQ or other state agencies.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill could result in certain public works projects undertaken by local governments after a catastrophe being expedited.
