LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 10, 2005

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB748 by Lindsay (Relating to the use of funds received under a contract with a municipality by a conservation and reclamation district.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a conservation and reclamation district that receives money from a municipality under the terms of a contract with the municipality, to use the money for any lawful purpose of the district or the municipality unless otherwise restricted by the terms of the contract. The bill would apply to a contract entered into on or after the effective date of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated from having additional flexibility in the use of money the district receives from a municipality. The change in statute would allow the district to use money received through a contract for its purposes without having to use other revenue sources.
