TO: | Honorable Todd Staples, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | SB802 by Barrientos (Relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 130 in Williamson and Travis Counties as the Willie Nelson Turnpike.), As Introduced |
The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect markers designating the portion of State Highway 130 between Interstate Highway 35 at State Highway 195 and United States Highway 183 at State Highway 45 Southeast as the Willie Nelson Turnpike. Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house. If the bill does not receive a two-thirds majority vote in each house, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
