LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 6, 2005

TO:
Honorable Todd Staples, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB802 by Barrientos (Relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 130 in Williamson and Travis Counties as the Willie Nelson Turnpike.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect markers designating the portion of State Highway 130 between the Travis-Williamson county line and Von Quintus Road as the Willie Nelson Turnpike.  Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  If the bill does not receive a two-thirds majority vote in each house, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
