SB809 by Averitt (Relating to the Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool.), Conference Committee Report

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to the Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool. Based on the analysis of the Department of Insurance, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

This bill would take effect January 1, 2006.


Local Government Impact

If the provisions of the bill were implemented, costs to self-insured cities and counties could be substantial, with the costs increasing in future years. The amount of these costs is unknown.
