SB826 by Van de Putte (relating to a study examining the feasibility of providing health services for women with postpartum depression. ), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to study the feasibility and effects of providing 12 months of Medicaid health services to women who are diagnosed with postpartum depression and who are eligible for medical assistance (Medicaid) at the time of diagnosis.  The bill would require a report due by September 1, 2006 explaining the conclusions of the study.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

The Health and Human Services Commission states the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact, but would have workload implications.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
