The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of providing 12 months of mental health services to women who are eligible for Medicaid and diagnosed with postpartum depression.

Fiscal Analysis

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to conduct a cost-benefit analysis.  The agency estimates this would cost $80,000 in fiscal year 2006 only.

Methodology

HHSC estimates a cost of $80,000 to complete the analysis and that there would be no federal financial participation.  Therefore, the cost would be all General Revenue.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
