No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the membership of the the Interagency Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (renamed the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders) and update health and human services agency names to reflect consolidation. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to determine the funding resources to be used for the council and would direct the council to develop with HHSC or its designee procedures for allocating available funds to programs.

The bill would authorize funds to be "appropriated" from available resources to allow the council to provide recommendations to HHSC and other state agencies, including recommendations relating to the use of funds appropriated to a health and human services agency for services for persons with autism or pervasive developmental disorders. It is assumed that the bill does not make an appropriation, but rather authorizes that existing appropriations be utilized in a certain manner.
