LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 4, 2005

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB983 by Van de Putte (Relating to home health care and hospice services under the state child health plan.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the child health plan (Children's Health Insurance Program) to provide home health care and hospice services as covered benefits. The Health and Human Services Commission indicates that home health care is currently a covered benefit and that the provision of hospice services would not result in a significant fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
