IN RE:
SB996 by Averitt (Relating to the use of personal leave by a public school employee.), As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 22.003, Education Code to prevent school district policies from restricting the order in which an employee can use state minimum personal leave and any additional personal leave provided by the school district. The bill would also entitle an employee to use accumulated sick leave or personal leave in any order.
The bill would apply beginning with the 2005-06 school year.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Some districts may see a slight increase in administrative costs due to the modification of policies associated with personal leave.
