The bill would require the Department of State Health Services to compile, organize, and release health outcome data collected under Chapters 104 and 191 of the Health and Safety Code according to specified geographic areas. The Department would be required to consult with stakeholders to define rural and urban areas.
The Department of State Health Services, Office of Rural Community Affairs, Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, and UT System Administration all indicate that existing resources will implement the requirements of the bill.
