No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code to modify the qualifications for a veteran's employment preference and the reporting requirements by public entities to the Comptroller of Public Accounts related to veteran's employment preferences. It also would establish a complaint procedure for individuals to appeal a hiring decision related to veteran's employment preferences.

The bill would repeal the requirement that a public entity have at least 40 percent of its employees selected from individuals with a veteran's employment preference.

It is anticipated that any costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed by existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
