IN RE: | SB1094 by Van de Putte (Relating to veteran's employment preferences.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend Government Code to modify the qualifications for a veteran's employment preference and the reporting requirements by public entities to the Comptroller of Public Accounts related to veteran's employment preferences. It also would establish a complaint procedure for individuals to appeal a hiring decision related to veteran's employment preferences.
The bill would repeal the requirement that a public entity have at least 40 percent of its employees selected from individuals with a veteran's employment preference.
It is anticipated that any costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed by existing resources.
