Fiscal Analysis

The bill requires the music office within the Governor’s Office to develop a Texas Music History Tour program to promote and preserve Texas music history.

Methodology

The bill requires the music office within the Governor’s Office to develop a Texas Music History Tour program to promote and preserve Texas music history. This analysis assumes that the music office will develop a website which will provide information on historically relevant music sites and allow visitors to create a travel itinerary. This results in a one-time development cost of $100,000 in fiscal year 2006 and a $25,000 annual cost for website maintenance in subsequent years.

The Texas Music History Tour could attract 65,100 additional travelers which could result in approximately $400,000 in additional general revenue to the state per fiscal year.

Technology

Website development, design and programming would be associated with this bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
