No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and require the Texas Building and Procurement Commission to ensure that transfers of surplus property by state agencies are conducted ethically and legally and are to the best economic interest of the state. It is assumed that any additional duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing appropriations.

 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
